Frequently Asked Questions
Where do we meet?
You'll meet our tour guide in the courtyard at the San Luis Obispo Mission near the El Camino Real historical bell marker on Chorro St.
How long do the tours last?
Each walking tour is approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on the pace of your group.
Will there be places to sit along the tour?
We can’t guarantee that there will be places to sit along the tour route. As a result, we don’t recommend this tour if you can’t comfortably walk/stand for a duration of 2 hours.
What should I wear?
Tours run year-round and, in all weather, so please make sure to check the forecast and dress appropriately. When in doubt, bring items like a light jacket or umbrella just in case. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes as you will be walking up to 1.5 miles throughout the duration of the tour. We also encourage you to wear clothing that promotes visibility as these tours are at night and we want to make sure you stay safe.
Can I bring my pet?
Out of respect for the other guests, we ask that you leave your pet at home if your furry friend is not a registered service animal.
Do you offer refunds?
We don’t offer refunds, but we do allow you to reschedule your tour for free 24 hours prior to the original purchased tour date. We understand that plans change so we try to make it as convenient for you as possible to reschedule. If you need a little more time to sort out a new tour date, you can always transfer your tour to a gift card that can be utilized at a future time. No-shows will be charged full price if absent without notification.
What is your cancellation policy?
Many of our guests are traveling from out of town and have a limited amount of time to spend in SLO. As a result, we only cancel tours in the most extreme of circumstances. Light rain is not one of those circumstances so make sure to bring an umbrella if that is the case! Keep in mind that you can always reschedule if you prefer not to walk around in the much-needed California rain. We also reserve the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of guests is not met. While we don’t expect either scenario to occur, if we do cancel a tour, we will notify the ticker purchaser by email and provide specific options for rescheduling.
Should I tip my guide?
If you enjoy your tour, we encourage you to tip your guide. If you don't carry cash, many of our guides also accept Venmo for tips and can provide you their QR code at the end of the tour. We also encourage you to consider leaving a positive review with your tour guide's name as we are committed to rewarding our top guides.
